Kerr◆Konnect Volunteers Make a Difference

Kerr◆Konnect volunteers enable local individuals and families, who have no other means of transportation, to go to the grocery store, doctors' appointments, physical therapy, counseling, and other local businesses to help them maintain an independent lifestyle as long as possible.

50% of all rides are medical related.

89% of our riders are 65+ years

We currently have 75+ drivers, and need 75+ more.

We currently have 10+ office volunteers, and need 3-4 more.

We maintain a 150+ list of names on our waiting list and as fast as we take folks off of the list, new applicants appear.

Volunteer Office Staff

As a KerrKonnect Driver, your goal is to safely pick up and transport riders to their appointments or other errands and return them to their home or final destination.

  • Set your own schedule. ( 1 ride per week or more.)
  • Choose your rides online.
  • Use your own vehicle.
  • No cash handling, all rides are prepaid.
  • Brief training to ensure your comfort level. Training: 1.5 hrs
  • We provide additional insurance coverage and continued support.
  • Receive amazing gratitude from everyone you meet.
  • We offer continued assistance whenever you need us.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a safe driving record.
  • Complete driver training (1.5 hrs.).
  • Background checks are done on all volunteer drivers.

Volunteer Office Staff

Our talented Volunteer Office Staff organizes, schedules and coordinates drivers and riders.

All rides are scheduled within a 10-mile radius of the Kerr County Courthouse.

  • Comfortable talking with the public over the phone.
  • Familiar w/office equipment
  • Comfortable working with computers and the Internet.
  • Able to multitask
  • Training is provided.  Training takes 3-6 weeks depending on the volunteer’s schedule.
  • Set shift of 4 hrs. a week. Office shifts are 9a-1p & 1p-5p, M-F. No weekends.
  • Must be 18 years of age and have a reliable source of transportation.
  • We have a low to no-traffic office and limited public contact.
